all you always wanted to know about wrap

but were afraid to ask

Automotive Wrapping

A paint wrap differs from a graphic wrap in that it represents a paint job to the closest extent possible. Most wraps don’t involve disassembly but when doing a paint wrap not only is there a 5-step cleaning process but there is a full disassembly of the vehicle. This ensures that you will have every edge and corner wrapped to perfection. Jambs are normally not included as our lines are so fine it is hardly noticeable.

300+ colors & finishes

We have over 300+ colors & finishes to choose from. There are Gloss, Matte, Satin, Pearls, Carbon Fiber, Brushed Steel, and Chrome colors. These are but a few of the main categories of to choose from; samples are available/viewable at our shop in Oceanside, NY.  There is the Classic Carbon Fiber Interior or even a Glossy Carbon look. We have about 10 colored carbons as well as different Brushed Steels or other textured colors. From leather to alligator, there are many styles to mix and match.

Chrome

Chrome, something that very few can do to the level of detail that Paradox Design expects. When dealing with chrome wraps it needs to be understood that this is by far the HARDEST and most expensive wraps you can have done.  Not only is the labor more strenuous but the materials are about 5x the price of regular wrap films. When dealing with panels it needs to be understood that the material is also only 48in tall which makes it hard to do larger panels without seams. I.e. Hoods, quarter panels or even bumpers. Plus, the materials themselves have about a 10-15% stretch where as normal materials may be up to 30% on a normal basis. To make a seam the right way it needs to be hidden or cut at the right angle. This is something very few actually acknowledge when attacking a full chrome wrap.

We happen to specialize in chrome films doing well over the normal industry average.  We have also worked closely with other shops around the world to give a standard that is untold within the industry; including chrome door jambs. This is not usually recommended but it is possible. Please feel free to ask us for our expert opinions on any chrome application you may have!

The process

After the vehicle is fully disassembled we then clean the vehicle with a FULL detail. This is what makes us different from the rest. It starts with a wash to remove any loose dirt or dust. Next it is followed by a clay bar to ensure that the surface is fully prepped and has no tar or road grime. We then remove any trims and or bumpers, headlights, taillights, door handles etc. and clean behind them. This removes any excess dirt from the edges and surrounding parts. Lastly, we 3M Prep Sol the entire vehicle to get rid of any wax or contaminates and the then hit the surface with a full 70% Isopropyl Alcohol detail and your all set to get to wrapping!
